the log:

The flower girl had been happily surprised at how many people had welcomed her. There had been that one very helpful man who another friendly one by the name of Demyx had called a Professor, and then another nice girl whom she hadn't found out a name from yet.

...And then there was Cloud.

Cloud. Despite the explanations she had been given, Aerith had still been a little shocked to encounter someone else from her world, especially someone who had become such an important part in her life. Cloud was a very strong and good person, so she could see why these scientists would want him here to help mend their world. And he seemed all right, at least, other than the shock. That was fine, she was still startled herself. It was understandable that people would be unhappy to be pulled here, she too hadn't been happy at first. Yet, since they were doing this to try and fix their planet, Aerith couldn't blame the scientists for their actions. Even if she had been brought here unwillingly, and even if this world wasn't her own, she was here now. What harm would there be in helping revive the life?

There were still a lot of things Aerith wanted to learn more about, as well as help with if she could. If there was a greenhouse around, for the moment she could at least help with that. Out of everything else, other than maybe mending wounds, it sounded like the most comfortable thing for her, too. While she would have gladly helped restore the city, fighting just wasn't in her nature... Hopefully there would still be room for help there. And then, powers or not, she could really start to help this planet. Aerith missed it, being able to hear the Planet. She wasn't used to not being comforted by their voices. That, perhaps, had been the biggest adjustment other than being alive again. Even if she ever got them back though, she didn't know how this planet's lifestream flowed. She assumed it had one, injured as it was. There was life on it, after all.

Well, she would just have to see! Soon enough she would have a visitor around, and that was more than enough comfort. Aerith smiled, despite her surroundings and the dangers feeling slightly giddy in anticipation. Would this even be good for Cloud, though. He had just finally been able to move on. She had been happy for him, and his friends. They all deserved it after their hard work! Just as she had said to them before, everything had turned out okay in the end...and the same would happen now. No matter what obstacles or challenges awaited her, in the end it would be all right. Whenever they did what they were meant to here, they would return to their own places they belonged. For Cloud, that would be alive and with the rest of the AVALANCHE crew. As for her, she would go to her Promised Land, where Zack was!

Aerith smiled. She would make the best of this chance she had been granted, and so far things had been looking brighter by the moment. Leaning the rusty pole she had found earlier against a nearby wall in case she needed it in the near future, she folded her hands and looked around for that familiar blonde head, smiling fondly at the thought of him acting like her bodyguard again. "But this time, it's you." Even though their journey had set them on different courses, to different, special people, she couldn't help but to giggle lightly as she waited. Why was it that people always felt the need to protect her, even in the most unbelievable of situations?
