Who: Rinoa
wingless_heart and Kadaj
adventlead
Where: Marshall Street
When: After this.
Rating: PG for now, but will change if it goes up.
Summary: Kadaj can't see Rinoa, so she's going to see him.
the log:
The past few days had passed like some sort of twisted waking dream. Many times, the world was blurry, and Kadaj hardly knew what he said or did. He let others figure out what he meant, or take care of things...even when he knew it was selfish. Pieces of him lay scattered in his head, divided by empty gaps. Sometimes it was a game, other times it was serious. Kadaj had failed at least a few times, and those times he could be aware. He didn't like those moments.
Now, it was like waking up.
Rinoa was here. Rinoa was safe. Rinoa even wanted to see him...
Kadaj was so grateful to her. So grateful that she was still here, that she hadn't turned her back on him quite yet like the rest. That he had seen her words, once again. That soon he would see her. He would have to be on his very, very best behavior. The remnant stood up and wiped the blood of monsters off of his face and hair best as he could. He wouldn't be wandering very far--not that he had much of a choice in the matter--so he didn't bother to alert Shinji. He planned on coming back. He was his friend. Perhaps he would even bring Rinoa with him. Would she like his home? No, of course she wouldn't. The leader of the trio shook his head, mumbling nonsense under his breath. Such a place didn't suit someone like Rinoa. And once she had found everything out...
She would be the same as the others.
And then she would never want to see him again. Kadaj lowered his head, unable to create any tears but the sadness apparent on his face for no one to see regardless. He slipped out of the wreckage as if he belonged to one of the shadows that lurked against the walls. It always seemed sad, not that it bothered him. But it had become his home... And with Shinji it wasn't so sad.
He was going to see Rinoa.
A small, startled gasp as if he had only just realized this fact. Kadaj's eyes lit up, chemical glow taking over briefly before he ran out the rest of the way and down the street. Whatever Rinoa chose, he would not deny. Seeing her face once more would be enough. And hopefully, he would see her smile, too.
Coming to a stop at the end of the road, Kadaj stared at his hands and fumbled with them nervously. It felt as if there was a vice inside him, constraining him. Suffocating him. His entire body trembled with anxious excitement; he nearly felt sick and surely would have been so, had it not been a day or two since the ramen.
But he wouldn't have had it any other way.
What would he say to her when she got here? How would she react to everything? No. He would tell her the truth. He owed it to her, more than anyone else. How things went on from there...
"I can take it." The pale-haired puppet nodded firmly, and repeated. "I can take it."
