Summary: Subaru goes to meet with a mysterious informant, who turns out to be his sister's murderer.

Subaru didn't need to walk far in order to get to the shopping district from the school. The night was cool, the air was clear, and even with the ominous sounds of howling and growls in the distance, he wasn't afraid. He had his cards with him, and he knew plenty of incantations to keep them at bay. He hadn't yet tried them, of course, but he was secure in knowing he could protect himself. His conversations with Testament, Nill, and his nameless helper didn't cheer him much, but it gave him a bit of hope.
He wasn't alone, and that's what mattered. This land wasn't completely void of life.
Nearing the shops, he dug out a cigarette and lit it, smoking for a few minutes in silence while he waited. It was...strange, though. He couldn't hear the earth or the people. He couldn't feel anything or any spirit's presence. He was unsure if that was a good or bad thing, however, and still clung to that faint thought that perhaps he was just tired, or this place was conflicting with him.
With a sigh, he threw down what was left of the cigarette and crushed it under his boot. "...Where is he?"
