the log:

October 4th. He knew what it was like to have a day that one didn't remember. For him, Kadaj couldn't remember the exact day, but. He wanted to make it better for Shinji, and for him to be happy. Perhaps it was wrong of him, and none of his business. But he would try. At the very least, he could be there for him.

Ha. How different things had become. Kadaj had spent the last week or so scavenging around the broken city, looking for anything that was a little less destroyed and rotten that he could possible use. It didn't leave him much, but he had managed. He held the little trinket in his hand, twined with leather he had saved and cleaned for a while. To be brief, it was a charm bracelet, but it was a very cool one, thanks. It was inspired by Rinoa, and the rings he always saw her wear. On it, lay a small dagger he had fashioned out of some scissors, protected by cloth he had found, an eye from one of the monsters, a paperclip and rusty small screwdriver, in case he needed to get somewhere, and then a piece of plastic that had been cut away into an oval, Shinji's name carved in one end with the words 'Here' on the other. It had meant to say 'I'm always here', but Kadaj had encountered trouble...

After killing about thirty monsters or so in a very loud, very crazy tantrum, the remnant had been calm enough to finish.

He hoped he still liked it.

Besides that, he had searched through the clothing stores until he found the suitable materials for a hat hanger. It was crudely built, wasn't practical, could only fit one hat and likely it would collapse in a few days. But he had tried. Now, all he could do was wait.

So Kadaj did, looking at the small amount of 'food' he had prepared. Maybe it wasn't safe... It would make decent stuff to throw at outsiders, at least. Occasionally he would look up, searching for that shadow. How much longer?
