Rating: PG for possible blood & guts
Summary: Freshly saved from GUILT, Saber wakes up to find her chip gone as well.
The log:
The surgery was complete, and the searing pain in her chest was gone. The strange, artificial disease identified as 'Kyriaki' that had infected her following the blast of the Accido satellite had been successfully removed before it had claimed her life. While she had long since had the fear of death purged from her after becoming a Heroic Spirit, Saber was quite glad to be rid of the terrible pain from the 'Invisible Blades'.
However, the disease was not the only thing that had been removed. The chip she had been implanted with had been discovered and was likewise absent. To Saber, this was a double-edged sword: while it had suppressed her magic-fueled abilities thereby making her weaker and more vulnerable, it had also allowed her to maintain a real, fully-human body. Even with the loss of her abilities, she had been delighted at, as she had seen it, 'being reborn'. As such, she refrained from seeking to have her chip removed as countless others in Discedo had. Fate, as always, had other plans.
With her chip gone, she could one again feel the flow of mana around her; even in a 'dead' city, it remained. But her newly-returned body needed this magical energy to sustain itself. If she did not find a Master to supply her with a lifeline to this power, she could disappear from Discedo...possibly forever.
