the log:

His powers have returned, of course. Those retrictions, that pesky little device those scientists had seen fit to insert inside his body, had been troublesome indeed; like shackles bound upon his mortal body. Even when he had removed it, still his powers had trickled in instead of returning in a gush. He'd waited, he'd played the nice doctor, and he'd behaved himself. He would have been willing to play the part of good Doctor Muraki all the more thoroughly for some time, but such things were simply not meant to be. Little birds exist to sing their damned songs even in Discedo, where the streets itself were some version of hell realized on earth. This nature the birds possessed existed in humans as well, albeit undead ones. Talk, talk, talk they would like knowledgeable little children that thing they already know all there is to know of the world.

Sleeping beauty woke up from his nightmares to speak such slanderous words. Lies, truths; it mattered little. What mattered was the fact that he had offered peace and had expected very much the same in return. Hadn't he told Tsuzuki he was only interested in the man? But no, children would choose to intervene in what they think is the best way.

Muraki had been content until that fragile web of lies was challenged. Breached.

He would have to deal with that now, wouldn't he? It was only the natural course of action. Step that boundary, and you risk yourself. There was simply no other way.

He decided to visit and punish just as he'd told a certain Sakurazuka. Charms, charms-- it had been a while but they had to be done. While piling corpses at Tsuzuki's feet would be a suitable replacement for roses in this place, this was simply for later. Much later. They needed to be kept alive, he needed to be more careful in such a small city. There were still restrictions in this place but at least they no longer bound his powers.

As he entered the High School he let fly a small paper shikigami, imbued with the barest of spiritual powers. He intended for it to circle inconspicuously for a while before finding his beloved Tsuzuki.
