the log:
It's dark, but clear, and the moons shine brightly over the shipyard. It's cold—frost will be hitting soon—and utterly quiet. It smells like fish. Every so often, a monster cries out, or shuffles in search of something. The lake laps against the pier. There's no sign where the meeting should take place, no sign of where the soldiers are hiding. Not a lot of cover—there's that, at least—but that goes both ways.
It is 8:55.
