At the call of his name, Yazoo came to a complete stop. He stood perfectly still, except for the small curve that grew in the corners of cold lips. He knew who it was. How could he not? The sound of that voice was familiar to him. He had heard it in joy, sadness, and frustration. It was true then—Mother would not keep them apart forever. It was a relief, to say the least.
“Kadaj,” Yazoo replied smoothly. Weapon holstered, he finally turned to face his younger brother. He took elegant, yet confident, steps toward him. The bloody double bladed katana Kadaj held was not an unusual sight. In this case, it was a welcome one. “I see you’ve been having fun.” The middle remnant evenly teased. It was good to see him. Good to see that the scientists, or whoever those people were, did not alter Kadaj in any way. Doing so would only insult Mother, and Yazoo refused to let such audacity go unpunished.
He lolled his head to the side and his eyes panned just over his brother's head. The inquiry was there. Yazoo did not need to ask it. Where were they? What were their plans? He knew Kadaj would give him all the answers soon enough.
