[ This is an open log for those who wish to explore Lachesistein freely, and it can take place any time between July 16th and 26th. [River moves closer to take a better look at the words. Everything she's seen so far worries her. River really hopes she's wrong on what it could mean.

For everyone's sake, let her be wrong for once.]

They probably were. The more I see, the more I'm reminded of something I encountered before arriving her. I hope whatever did this isn't that.

[shortestfuse]

Yeah, okay. [ They head in that direction, walking close through the fog. It's disturbing his sense of smell - there's a rotten smell like decay, mold. ] Taiwan... who got taken from you? [ He aims a look over. ]

[meilihua]

M-my sister, Vietnam... I mean...she was here until recently and then...

[shortestfuse]

... [ Shizuo's eyes harden and he clenches his jaw. How someone could take such an innocent person's sibling... it pisses him off to no end. He speeds up, long legs carrying him farther, faster.

And he peers over his shoulder once at her. ] We'll find Vietnam-san. And Kasuka. And Asano-san. And Mairu and Kururi. And your brother's friend. [ He says resolutely, listing off those he fully intends to save. ]

[meilihua]

[Running to keep up, and trying to smile reassuringly] Y-yes!

[baka_jyanai]

-Cirno silently nodded, clinging a bit less tight.-

Tell her I'm sorry...

[eyeforaneye]

Don't get too cocky. There are people here that are stronger than both of us right now. [ His limitations are hardly things that he wants to discuss but rushing in armed with overconfidence will only damage them both. ]

If you're hearing things, then we both are. For now I would say to ignore it, but don't let your guard down. [ Like that should even need to be said. Poor Suigetsu, always a victim of that patronizing attitude. ]

[She made sure to stand clear the instant he heard the groan of the wall and apprehension faded into joy as she stepped though the hole and spotted the doppelganger. She looked about and realized quickly what it was. She smiles widely, trying to hide the fact she was worried behind her usual grin.]

Alright, where to now?

[then_there_were_none]

[But first, Marisa gets a big hug. Flandre's still in that extra-careful people are made of glass mode, but still a hug. And the little vampire only lets go when they have to move again, to tug on her sleeve.]

This way, Marisa. Cirno says she's sorry.

[The main Flandre perks her head up; while she's since closed her eyes again, she turns her head as if to look and chirps anyway.]

Marisa is coming back this way now, Cirno.

Tsk. Nothing useful. [He holds up a pair of red rimmed extremely thick glasses however.]

Tashigi has glasses like this. Damned woman's always forgetting to wear them too... [He shakes his head.] No other signs of her though, just the same chaos and jumping at shadows.

-Cirno nodded again. But there was still the fact that they were now lost. And it was her fault. She didn't even find any clues.-

[A soft chuckle escapes her as she hugs back, returning the hug with relief.]

Tell her it's alright. I'm just glad you guys are alright while I was a bit lost. Don't need ta be losing everyone from home here now, We have enough people to be looking for, let alone each other.

[Marisa doesn't resist and follows at the tug on her sleeve. She is anxious to see with her own eyes. This place was bad enough with the hints just sitting out in the open, taunting and teasing.]

[then_there_were_none]

[Flandre wasn't too concerned; she was holding Cirno and Cirno was holding her back and Marisa would be back soon so everything was right.

When they round the corner, the doppelganger disappears--one of them. The other is still holding the coat, and is the one that looks up at Marisa. But it's the Flandre holding Cirno that speaks.]

Everyone is back now.

Yeah, well, once we get out of these backwater boonies we can convince that ex-teammate to remove the chips. [ He chuckles, lips curling into a tight smile. ] Can't wait to get my fucking power back.

Thank god, I thought I was going crazy. [ Too late for that, Suigetsu, but that's besides the point. ] Don't gotta tell me twice. [ He's had one hand near his kunai this entire trip.

They come up to a house quick enough though, the two-story building looking much larger and more ominous - it's the sheer state of it. ] Alright, looks shady enough. Let's check it out, huh?

[baka_jyanai]

But... where are we now?

[shortestfuse]

[ Looking up a bit, the figure of the mall looms up ahead and he takes a deep breath before nodding. ] Alright, we'll check this place I guess.

[ He's never been one for adventure, but shouldering open the heavy doors to the shopping mall, he feels as though he's been thrown right into one. ]

It looks like people were just here, like they all just up and left all of a sudden.

[And that gets her full attention.]

That being?

[Her interest in a mall is not always entirely rational, but her half-excitement is quickly sobered when she sees what this one is like. She shudders a little bit] A-at least there aren't any... [Bodies, she means to say, and thinks better of it]

"Backwater"? The cities themselves are still not too impressive. [ Although in a few ways he's reminded of Konoha. Varying architecture, some of it overgrown. No skyscrapers or anything like that. ]

Sure. No losing sight of each other. [ There's no fear in his tone at all; all he truly feels is apprehension. It's the thought of seeing his brother again that occupies his mind, not a concern about anything that might choose to attack them. He tries the front door, needing to use a little extra strength to force it open thanks to a rusted latch. Still... Why does he have the feeling someone or something has been in here more recently than it seems? ] How quiet.

[River falls silent for a few moments as she studies the graffiti.]

Have you wondered why some of the messages mention angels yet? There is a legend in my universe about a creature that has the perfect defense. If you look at it, it's a statue. When you look away, it becomes alive and kills you.

Only it's not a legend.

[stardustreverie]

I dunno. But it we need to, we can just blast our way out, Just have to find a wall close to the outside.

[Marisa walks up to the two, slipping the doll back into her hat to free up her hand for the moment. This place had her on edge as it was.]

But that's up to you.

[then_there_were_none]

[The little vampire grumbles a little, then picks Cirno up again, cradling the fairy like a doll.]

...I don't like the doors.

[Even if just one was actually a Pseudodoor, that's quite enough for her please and thank you.

One more squeeze, though.]

Where does Cirno want to go?

Tell me about it, some skeleton guy says the lake is acidic! Can't even go swimming... [ He scuffs his foot on the doormat, heading in after Sasuke gets the entry open. Looking around with a bored expression, he straightens a painting hanging on the wall and examines a table of pictures. ]

Well, they didn't take many of their belongings with them if they decided to evacuate or something. [ He pulls open a drawer, spotting essential things like a flashlight, candles, a lighter... he drags a hand across the table, palm coming away clean. ] Definitely recent, there's no dust. Creepy~

[eyeforaneye]

Acidic... [ Perhaps it's fortunate that he hasn't spent much time near it himself. ]

If someone has recently been here then it isn't much of an evacuation. [ He plucks up that lighter, flicking it and being presented with a small flame. Still had fluid in it, then. It's snapped shut and tossed back into the drawer as he exits that little parlor, heading through a doorway and into a spacious kitchen. Still the architecture seems strange to him; Konoha was so different. ]

I would expect to smell something rotten if someone left in a hurry.

[ When Sasuke moves into the kitchen, Suigetsu peeks around a corner to scan a living room before losing sight of the man he's not supposed to lose sight of. ] No sign of a struggle or anything. It's like they just vanished. Or someone likes playing pretty elaborate pranks!

[ He pulls a fire poker from the stand by the fireplace and steps away from the hearth, giving it a test swing. ] Huh. So- [ There's a sudden creak of the floorboards overhead and Suigetsu tenses, throwing a look over his shoulder.

Backing out of the living room, he quickly, silently, moves into the kitchen. ] Sasuke. Upstairs.
