[ This is an open log for those who wish to explore Lachesistein freely, and it can take place any time between July 16th and 26th. Karkat, you look utter shit. What the fuck are you doing here? [It sounds like he's being nonchalant and dismissive, but he's legitimately worried why Karkat is here in his condition.]

You just don't board a train that's probably a trap to some remote land already looking like hell.

[ Karkat opens his mouth and points his finger like he's about to lecture her, but he freezes.

He forgot the secret of the cocanuts. ]

Well fuck. Neither do I. We'll have to figure this out while we're here. You do your detective routine and I'll be your cranky cohort who bitches at you as much as he damn well pleases. We'll be like Stablock Holmes and Watson. I need a bowler hat.

[ He mutters to himself a bit as he wanders into some nearby shade. Not that there's much need for that but whatever. ]

I mean, come on. Creepy letters that know way too much detail about our lives? Check. Creepy transportation to remote, previously unheard of location? Check. Ominous peasoup fog? Double check. Actually, I'm starting to feel a little ripped off.

[Although the whole hearing voices and not seeing anything was a little unsettling, it was more annoying than anything. It was like this place was just trying to fuck with them on purpose.]

But, sup. Is being up there any more useful than being down here?

The only routine we'll be doing is the one where you stick behind me, and I keep us from getting horribly maimed by any and all monsters we run across. Because you're looking pretty miserable right now-- more so than you usually do.

She's still a distance away that she can't quite get a good look at Terezi, so she isn't aware that this is the girl she identifies as the Mattress Queen to. By the sound of it she's pretty amused with the greeting though. ]

[ Karkat is actually exhausted from rage. Rage has worn him out. That's like getting tired from breathing. That's like getting tired from the various cellular functions one must perform in order to qualify as alive.

She kneels, papping at his face to find his forehead. People do that, right? Like, somehow, touching some asshole's forehead will inherently tell you whether they're sick or not. While there are no signs or anything obvious, Terezi's about 99.9999% sure no one is ever supposed to be that warm. Maybe he was sicker than she originally assumed he was???? ]

Alright, Not-Tavros-Keeper-of-The-Death-Lizards. We've got a few steps for survival, so get your spine ready. First step? It's the hardest. You're going to have to take a nap. Don't make me force you to do it.

[ He jumps a bit, but you know what? DOESN'T EVEN CARE ANYMORE. He just stands there and lets her sniff him. Smell the weed scent that clings to his clothes. The freedom that clings to his skin. The deserts, the forests, the swamps, the shores, the plains, the cities and suburbs and farms that emanate through him.

Except he can't really decide if her being like 13 makes this less intimidating or exponentially more awkward. The answer is both. As long as she keeps things above the waist he'll be calm and casual. ]

When you're done with that, you haven't happened to see a little blond girl running around here, have ya? 'bout your height and age, usually wears a white dress, sketches stuff...

[She'd ended up coming on half-a-whim, but she'd actually prepared for this expedition, with a change of clothes and some survival supplies. The train ride had been more than a little terrifying though.

It's probably characteristic that her first thought was how long they were going to be here, and what they were going to eat while they were here.

She's being very specific in her explorations - surely it was possible to find enough food and supplies to make sure everyone got fed.]

Jegus Crackers and Toast for breakfast, Strider, he's still my friend you insensitive fuck. Just because he's dead and a homicidal blob of calamari waiting to happen doesn't mean I'm going to ignore his whiny pleas for help. Anyway as far as I can figure, it's more than just the usual fish person abduction where the goal is to forcibly harvest genetic material and then cull the victim. No. The white van monster is as mysterious in its motivations as it is sinister.

For your information I've been eating the usual stuff. Tapioca sandwiches. Bread sandwiches. Sliced orange sandwiches. Ketchup sandwiches. All sorts of healthy shit.

[ He is getting pretty tired from breathing actually. His breathing is labored and shallow. Karkat still has enough energy to swat her hand away after a few paps. He still has enough energy to try to resist her too. ]

[ And just like that, he takes off like a fucking rocket. He's running on sheer willpower and fury now. He's aimlessly running down the street, leaving poor BenfromLost to try to keep up. ]

You can't seriously think that all of our friends just suddenly showed up at this place and decided to deliver letters to our hives without contacting us directly or anyone noticing them lurking about. It's just a little too ridiculous, even for me.
