[ when you all see Jack at this Mochi meeting, you may notice something different.

there is a cat with him. he is playing with this cat (dangling an old necklace he found for said cat to pounce at, to be specific). but many of you may know this cat as Ange's Bern.

that's right. Jack is getting along with Bern. what has the mochi curse done?? ]

[ he looks up, smiling himself ] Haha, I know, right? I've always thought she's kind of annoying, but I've been babysitting her and she's not so bad!

[ he scratches Bern behind the ear- she purrs ]

Ah, do you think she'd mind if I...? ((pet her? Her hand is out.))

[ and Bern quickly stands up and rubs her head on Sakura's hand! see for once this all has made Bern NICE ]

Hey, see, she likes you too! Maybe she's got gotten way friendlier lately, huh.

Doesn't seem like she could have ever been unfriendly with how she is now. ((pet pet pet pet.))

[ he pats a random mochi that's bobbing around as he says it ]

Man, I feel like I've heard somebody use that word before here. [ not asking what it means though ] I think she's just sort of silly.

[ WHOA SAKURA WHOA ] Uh, well, I don't think so? I mean, she seems pretty okay...

[ scratching his chin all dramatically while staring at this cat. and she's just like "whatev" to the both of them and looking at some random mochi ]

((WELL?!?!?! Sakura just sort of frowns.)) Aw well, I doubt it matters. If she's friendlier it's definitely better.

Sure is. She's even getting along with all the Mochis, haha.

[ there goes Bern cuddling with a bunch of Mochis. what a cat ]

Ah, I'm Sakura, by the way. I'm not sure we've met before..?

Uh...we might've, but man, there's always new people here! I'm Jack. [ and he holds out a hand for a shake! ]

((There's a moments pause, and her hand comes out to shake his.)) Well, it's nice to meet you either way!

Yeah, same here. Always cool to meet people who aren't super crazy here, right?

Hah, yeah seriously. Seems like most everyone is nice, but once in a while there's some creep around here I'd rather just slug.

Exactly. Especially lately, seems like there's a bunch of people I can't stand!

Yeah, seriously. One day a guy's your best friend, next day it's like he's the stupidest thing you've ever looked at.

I know! I mean, most of my close friends are up on that exploration thing, but everybody here- either they're awesome or they're terrible.

Well... at least all the cool people came here, right!

((Sakura looks to be playing with what... LOOKS like a mochi of Kakashi, pulling at its face and frowning.))</small. Geez, these guys are really weird.

[reobserves]

[ Don't mind Yukiteru here - one of the mochis (it has an eyepatch and long purple hair..) is sitting on his head, bouncing up and down almost slightly angrily or teasingly. ]

Weird? .. Hehe, I don't know, they're sort of cute..

Huh? Oh hey! ((smiles.)) I mean I guess they're kind of cute but.

Well. Maybe unsettling is the word I'm looking for. ((pulls at the mochi's face a second.))

I don't think they're unsettling, something that small would never hurt someone, I'm sure.. [ that small and cute, even. ] Or do you think they're unsettling since they.. well.. look like other people?

Yeah, something like that.


((a pause, and she smiles.)) But I guess it's a nice way to see all your friends again! Sort of....

Even if it's not really them, huh?

Well, as much as I might miss them, I wouldn't ever wish they got stuck here, so it's kind of win-win.

In some cases it can be better though, right..? If.. the world they come from is really bad and it'd be better for them here, or something like that..

[sthenic]

Yeah, I've heard that argument before. Guess when you think of it like that, it's really hard to hate the place... It kind of becomes an escape if someone has no where to go.

((pets Kakashi-mochi for a moment.)) It's safe back home for us, so just the same.

Yeah, I'm.. sure those people would be really happy here. [ he's one of them, but admitting that feels.. awkward, and Yuno shouldn't know, so.. ]

So I'm glad for them.

[ So here's Hong Kong, sitting on the ground. Staring across at a Mochi that looks a bit like his brother.

It's very smiley.

And cute.

He seems to be pretty enamored of it... to the degree that most people will find the sight of him smiling to be somewhat unusual in comparison to his characteristic deadpan expression. ]
