Where: Room 406 in the Latimir appartments.
When: Just now.
Rating: G
Summary: Poo comes to visit Paula a few days after she got her chip removed.
the log: Poo padded down the hallway of the Latimir apartments, heading for room 406. He made sure he was ready for if Paula happened to become unstable in the way she had when he was bringing her back to their room.

He opened the door to the apartment. "Hello, Paula!" he announced cheerfully, smiling softly towards her. "How are you?"

Paula's head bounced up on impulse to the sound of her friend's entrance. She did not smile but looked shocked, rather. Her face softened into one of feigned relief. "Oh. Hello, Poo." She was settled on the edge of the bed, hands folded neatly in her lap while her fingers fumbled around with each other.

The abstract painting that used to hand on the wall adjacent to her was cracked in half, the remainder splayed on the carpeted floor below. A curtain was torn. Marks could be seen on the girl's face and she looked sad somehow.

Poo blinked, surprised. "This is what you have done in this state?" he mulled slowly, surveying the room and soaking it in. "This is very extreme, Paula."

"It's like throwing up, you see," Paula admitted, her head sinking lower while her eyes shut. "I can only last so long before they unleash again in cycles. Morbid cycles. I'm so sorry... once I feel up to it, I'll try to fix things... but right now I have greater concerns. Please be careful if you walk into this room..." Her hands clenched together.

Poo did not hesitate upon entering fully, shutting the door behind him. "I will be fine. I would like to stay with you and keep you company for as long as possible," he said, stepping closer to the blond, halting at her bedside. "So, tell me... has it been getting any better, though?"

Paula shook her head morosely. "Not really, to be honest with you. But I hope it does. My powers should even out and grow comfortable again. I'm not ready for them yet." She lifted her head to look at Poo, offering him a light smile with sincere eyes.

"I see," Poo responded thoughtfully. "How long is this supposed to last again...? A week?"

"So they say."

Poo knelt down. "So... there's a possibility of this lasting longer?" There was a hint of unease present in his voice.

"I sure hope not, but it's possible. Anything is; but for optimism's sake, let's say this will only be over in a matter of days." Her smile grew as her eyelids fluttered closed.

The older of the two turned away for a moment. "Yes," he said, and turned back. "Do you think this kind of thing might happen to me?"

"I hope not, but I think so." Paula gazed at him uncomfortably, reaching out a consoling hand to touch him on the head gently. "This kind of pain is bad. But in the end, I expect it will be worth it."

His eyes closed. "Yes, it will be worth it, Paula. You are very strong. Your powers are very important."

These compliments brushed over Paula and settled into her heart warmly. "Thanks, Poo. Same to you. We can both get through this, but if you decide to get your chip removed, please stay away from me. We don't need two people who have no control over powerful PSI, now do we?"

Poo smiled. "I will wait a while before getting my chip removed. I do not want to trouble you right after you have gone through these hard times. I also have things I must take care of before being rendered useless for a while," he stated with sincerity.

Paula decided to be more reserved and not pry on those 'things'. "I don't think we should both be haywire at the same time, now. Thanks, Poo."

The prince stood and placed himself on the bed next to his friend. "So... if you do not mind me asking... how are things with you and Ness?" he inquired, looking deep into the girl's eyes.

"Really good," she chirped, eyes glazing over with infatuation. "Ness is the sweetest... I'm so glad we... well..." She giggled softly, face flushing while her hand raised up to cover her mouth. "It's nothing. But now we know. And he should be coming by soon."

Poo smiled. "I am happy you are happy," he admitted and felt compelled to touch her golden locks. He resisted. "Coming by soon? When do you think he will be here?"

"In a matter of minutes, I bet." She sighed, watching the door with a permanent smile.

Poo dragged his attention to the door and watched it intently, waiting. He bit his lip; a habit not usually performed by the Dalaamese prince, and wondered why Paula smiled so.
