Who: Raiden, Big Boss
Where: Near the hospital
When: Before operation "Rescue Snake"
Rating: PG?
Summary: Ninja training, it's go time.
the log:
Snake was dead.
That same fact kept repeating in Raiden's head and had been since Big Boss had announced it over the network, accompanied by a pang of guilt every time he thought about it. If he'd only been there, there wasn't a doubt in Raiden's mind that he could've done something, anything to prevent this. If he'd only paid more attention instead of distancing himself because seeing him unchanged after five years was difficult to take in.
What ifs and maybes, they were no good after the fact.
The only thing keeping him together right now was the fact that death wasn't a permanent affair here, that Snake would be back soon. It gave him something to focus on instead of how he'd failed. Even if he'd have much preferred to do this on his own and avoid any more avoidable danger, it afforded him another distraction, at the very least.
He waited patiently outside the hospital entrance for Big Boss to arrive. Thankful in the back of his mind that he no longer had sweat glands or was susceptible to getting shakes to show off his nerves.
