the log:

The sunset had been tucked away, hidden with heavy clouds and an unpleasantly thick fog. There was a chill crisp in the air, but it didn’t bother him. Every breath exhaled came as a white cloud from his lips until fading into nothingness before him. The park wasn’t quite like he was expecting, but he couldn’t find it in him to be disappointed. For once... he wasn’t tired. It was a rarity as of recently. A bundle of anxiety, excitement, was unfurling.

Ritsuka was walking the fallen rotten trees like a new sort of playground item, balancing his away across the trees, tail held meticulously still as if to help his balance. There was the weight of his camera and cellphone weighing down one pocket of his jacket, the furred edges grazing his chin. He was... excited to meet Cecil, really. He’d never met anyone else his age that acted like him. Regardless, there was a thin string of anxiety under the surface. He kinda wanted to make a good impression. To be liked. It wasn’t something Ritsuka could say he usually worried about.

Ears flattening in a pitch of nervousness, he stepped off the tree trunk he was currently occupying and returning to the side of a rusty swing set couple. Should... he have mentioned where to meet? Idly, he slumped into one of the swings, ignoring the rusty whine produced and giving his own small sigh and sliding one hand into his jacket, fingers grazing over the camera. Violet eyes focused on some unimportant feature on the ground, trying to remember times and... he’d rushed a bit too much, hadn’t he? Even against the bandage at the side of his lips, he managed something of a smile at himself.
