Summary → Another random log just so I can get some writing back going. Euphemia is restless and decided to run out and wait for the snow to come. She's just going to wait. Wait so hard. Snow in Discedo? She wants to be there for the first few flurries. Nothing but her just enjoying some outside time.

the log:

After weeks of hazardous weather from fallen ash to acid rain, it felt as though whatever omnipotent being was responsible for the natural disasters finally decided to shower the city with something a little more lighthearted. Snow—in the middle of August! It was unheard of but something she was delighted to hear and eager to see for herself. Every hour or so, Euphemia would rush over to the window and look about in hopes to spot the first hint of snow with her palm pressed against the glass to periodically check the temperature. It was gradually getting colder, but not a single flake descended from the sky. Eventually all the waiting from inside was making her a bit restless, and with so little to do at this time of day. With a rather dingy shawl she found somewhere thrown around her neck, Euphemia quietly exited the apartment and made her way to the front door. Her first thought was to head up the stairs to the rooftop, but given that it was knocked down, that was obviously impossible. With a sigh, she headed for the main exit and slipped out the door.

The cold air was the first sign that snow was well on its way, and judging from the clouds above, she knew it was only a matter of time before the city took on a different look—one shrouded in white. In the meantime, now was a nice opportunity to simply get a bit of fresh air, or rather air in general. She didn’t go too far away from the apartment, but instead simply wandered outside the front bouncing between the sidewalk and the roadside. What was there to do out here anyway? Aside from the road, there really wasn’t much to look at save for a few buildings here and there. Thus she decided to wander just a little further off. Just across the street she could make out Horizon Park, an area she was told about before but never really cautioned on. It looked safe from what she saw, and since it was just in reach of the apartments, she didn’t see the harm in skipping off across the street, teetering just near the edge to give it a closer inspection.

She turned back to the apartments, then forward again to face the park. Really, how bad could it be? It was just a few barren trees and some grassy area, and if there was any lurking monsters, it wasn’t as though she couldn’t run back. Right? Ah, she was asking for a lot of trouble with that question, but something told her there was likely to be any on this day. It just didn’t feel at all ominous like most, and for once she was tired of having to take caution in just about everything she did. That was not to say she’d be reckless in this scenario, but for just a little bit, she wanted to set aside everything and just ... relax. Relax and try not to think about everything that occurred over the course of two weeks. From confusing conversations, unexpected events, and embarrassing caught-on-camera moments, this month alone had been a rather interesting learning experience and eye opener. Not to say that all of it was bad since it allowed her to gain a new family member and acquire many new friends, but there was always just something that tended to weigh down on her mind. Really, why couldn't she make everyone happy? That silly, naive, optimistic side of her trying to fix everything into the rose-colored world she thought she could create back home was carrying over here. How to go about it was something she had not quite figured out yet.

But for now there were other things she wanted to think about that would lighten her mood ... like snow! Yes, snow! Just when was it going to fall? She lifted her gaze skyward to check for any sign of it, and then went back to casually strolling around, spinning here and there and acting very much like herself. There was something to be optimistic to for a change, something pleasant to look forward to and she was going to enjoy every moment of it, even if it had yet to even start.

Now if only morning would come quicker...
