the log:
The time that had passed from the moment he stepped out of the High School was probably less than half-an-hour, but already, Jowy was having second thoughts about his, admittedly, impulsive decision. Granted, he'd had the mind to take some supplies with him - some water and dried food - just in case he got lost terribly in the fog, but even then, he knew that there could have been other options, better options if he'd waited. Still, could he really have afforded to wait for someone to help him find Jillia?
So far, it didn't seem like any of the monsters were taking advantage of the fog, but one couldn't be too sure. He'd rather be with Jillia and then figure things out from there, than twiddling his thumbs in the safety of the High School.
He walked cautiously, feeling his surroundings for surrounding people, and even monsters. Once in a while, with an interval of roughly a minute between, he'd call out for Jillia in hopes that she would answer. As the seconds ticked by, he wondered if Discedo had was just playing tricks on him.

Yui was starting to get a little worried. No, that wasn't right, she was terrified and quickly grasping onto the fact that she was most likely not dreaming and very much in danger of being eaten alive from a group of shadowy creatures whose features she dared not to stop and verify. Running had never been one of Yui's talents, even if she seemed to be running a lot these days and the added weight from Giitaa on her back made her twice as slow if not more. Her guitar was throwing off her balance too, but she tried not to dwell on that.
"Uuuui..!" Perhaps it would sound a little lame to other people, for a girl in mortal danger to be yelling for her little sister to come save her, but Ui was invincible, unbeatable, incredible and... well, maybe Yui just really wanted a hug and a comforting affirmation on the chance that she might still be dreaming.
The device she was given with the words "use this" was no help at all either. It neither shot laser beams at the monsters, nor did some adorable digital demon come to her aid. She didn't even transform into a super sailor anything.
Nearly in tears, she called out for her sister once more before she quickly turned on her next corner and made for a dash in hopes of throwing off her persuers. It worked in all those after school animes, it could possibly work for her.
♠
The sound of someone crying nearby caught Jowy's attention quickly-- No, he told himself, that couldn't be Jillia but-- He tightened his grasp on his weapon and focused on following the direction of that cry. At the very least, it wasn't a monster. Did that mean the person was being chased by a monster? That was a possibility!
He could run, couldn't he? But wouldn't that be dangerous in the fog? "I have to calm down," he whispered to himself, and though he didn't run, he walked just a bit faster.
There was another cry, and this time, it sounded more desperate... closer. He'd barely registered the rapid sound of footsteps coming closer by the time something crashed headfirst into his chest with an oof.
"H-huh?!"
"Kyaaaaaaaaaaa!" Was Yui's immediate reaction. "Waaaaaaaaaaaah!" Was her second and let's just say her third and fourth were in the same category.
♠
While the fog made it hard for her to see clearly, she had enough of her brain unscrambled to figure that she had run into something rather than a wall as was her initial thought. The thing part was what was freaking her out. Shadowy monsters were behind her and this thing in front. This nightmare, horror live action was just getting more and more gruesome, wasn't it?
The thing did talk though. That was enough to make her blink through her tears and look up to find herself attached to a young man who was obviously human (and hopefully not just a human-shaped monster). It would have been too much exertion on her brain to note the weapon or clothing. A flush of relief rushed through her before the previous fear took over again.
"We have to run! There were th-these dark, shadowy things that started surrounding me and, and, and-" she paused to get in a few gasps of breath before continuing, "and we have to RUN! Like, right now!" She tugged on his shirt as if to show the urgency in her words.
