Summary: Muraki lacks the courtesy and common sense his friend Oriya prides himself in and decides to "surprise" his friend a little in the sea of fog. "Surprise" being a gross understatement considering the circumstances of his disappearance.
the log:

The fog was the least of his problems, really. Though there was certainly an external power at work, one that toyed and altered his unusually sharp senses, Muraki found himself at ease in the peculiar surroundings. The fog could try its best to confound him, but he could also use it to his advantage. Bending, twisting-- these dark elements were to his liking. He could not fully control them, no, but where others might find nothing but danger, fear, and threats within the fog, Muraki could find an advantage he could use to his own liking. After all, he too was a harbringer of these dark emotions, of fear and anger, hate and confusion. The devil does not allow its minions to destroy its own kingdom.

Muraki looked back once, almost expecting to see the sillhoutte of the hospital just beyond his shoulder, but when he was met by nothing but the thick fog he only shrugged. Such was only to be expected. He hoped to be back before daybreak, at the very least. The poor doctor shouldn't have gone wandering out on his own, after all.

He reached for a piece of paper inside his coat and when he put it out, transfigured it into a small winged shikigami. It would do well to look for Oriya in his place. There was no use wasting his breathe wandering like a common being about in the thick fog. He could guide the shikigami from where he was and respond justly when it found its target.

For now, he would wait.
