the log:

Of all the timing in the world, it had to be now, didn't it? Normally Lelouch wouldn't have to deal with it. Really he blamed the present environment. How else dare he explain what idiocy he had to deal with just a few days ago? While, yes, Rolo wasn't his blood brother, that didn't mean that he had ever expressed any sort of romantic feeling towards anyone at all. Admittedly, he did claim outright who his first true love was, but that didn't really matter as of late nor did it really apply to this situation. The fact of the matter was, Lelouch had no idea how to handle something such as this. Not from Rolo. True, the boy had been ever so dedicated to Lelouch and wouldn't go against him... Yet as of late that did not seem to be the case. The boy went behind his back and then proceeded to preach to him about understanding feelings. As if Rolo actually had them before their time together through the Black Knights and Lelouch's role as Zero. It was irritating, to say the least. Now all of these people were putting more and more ideas into the assassin's head and causing Lelouch even more headache.

Also heartache, but that was something else entirely.

Though through their argument, the teen had broken down in tears. Crying and sobbing. Desiring Lelouch's acceptance and feelings that Lelouch wouldn't be able to return. Demanding it, really. It wasn't the time nor the place to even be considering such things in Lelouch's opinion. It clouded one's judgment. Then irrationality set in. Hence Rolo's present condition. What he did had infuriated Lelouch. Truthfully, it had not been the time to discuss the teen's stunted emotional growth. Not when they had been speaking of Rolo's disobedience and desire to protect a dead man walking. Had the situation been different... Well suffice to say the end result might have turned out differently.

Which is why Lelouch sat at the Northern Lights, book on a table as he was reading it. He desired to be away from everyone for a little while. It wasn't something he wished to share with Nunnally or Euphy. For obvious reasons he did not wish to even be near Rolo at the moment either. Suzaku... He had enough on his plate and Lelouch didn't feel like piling something else up there. Lelouch didn't want to be found by any of them, really. Thus the Northern Lights instead of the library. It wouldn't normally be in Lelouch's nature to actually venture inside on a regular basis. It was a distraction, he knew, but really he didn't care. For one selfish moment, Lelouch wanted to just get away from thinking about his own affairs, even if only for a day.
