Where I'm going is anybody's guess.
Who: Nill (
hainesangel), OPEN
Where: St. Peter's Church
When: Early afternoon, December 1st
Rating: PG / PG-13 (for violent imagery)
Summary: Among all the unfamiliar faces and places that existed in Discedo, there was still one place that felt familiar to the little winged girl. Whether it was homesickness or she simply felt drawn to it, Nill found herself there in St. Peter's Church one cloudy afternoon.
the log:
Nill had a lot to think about over the past few days... She wondered about the city that she found herself stuck in now, and why Heine and the others weren't there.
It filled her with a bit of loneliness, but Jackie Estacado and the others who visited her at the apartment and contacted her through the communications network distracted from those feelings -- at least for a little while. With her memories thrown in disarray, a lot of those same people were still strangers to her. They could all remember what she was not able to, and that the foreknowledge of knowing her name. It was bewildering, and sometimes she couldn't help the intense guilt that she felt once they realized that she had lost her memories of who they were. She could barely admit it anymore.
But with her duties at the hospital and other smaller hobbies forgotten, she found herself saddled with a lot of free time. -- Sometimes it helped to think about just what she had forgotten, but whenever she tried too hard, her head would start to hurt. That was why she never tried to force herself to try too hard, because the pain would just become unbearable. Sometimes it even made her think that maybe there was nothing for her to find in the first place. Therefore, in her idleness she started to fall into the habit of gradually exploring on her own. It started out with just opening up closets and old drawers and looking through the windows of room 305 in Horton whenever Jackie had gone out, but then she started to walk outside, going up and down the stairwell of the apartment building itself. From the lobby downstairs to the rooftop.
Then she stopped, and considered where she could go next. Cube had mentioned the church to her before, and the little winged girl had been curious about it as the days went by. She wanted to see it, but didn't want to run into any of the monsters she was warned about along the way. Nill understood that it was dangerous to go outside by herself... but was having a hard time waiting as the days go by, and felt hesitant to ask for company. The people around her were still strange and unfamiliar to her. Which is why, on one cloudy afternoon, she decided to grab a coat out of the bedroom closet and boldly headed downstairs and out the front door of the apartment building by herself.
St. Peter's church wasn't too far away, but she made sure to be careful and listened closely for any strange sounds until--finally--she found herself looking up at the old building as she stood before the front steps.
