Who: Nill (
hainesangel) and OPEN
Where: St. Andrew's Hospital, Rooftop
When: June 1st, early afternoon
Rating: PG?
Summary: Nill copes with the disappearance of Heine Rammsteiner in her own way. By making herself so busy with her work at the hospital that she barely even has time to think about anything else.
the log:
Nill had been working hard since her last post to the network--where she was coping with the disappearance of someone she long considered a friend -- Charles Fei-Ong. Harder than usual, in fact.
She had thrown herself into handling more tasks around the hospital, and doing it with as much gusto as she could manage. However, even in her helpful nature, it was a little... strange. Because the little winged girl would get so busy with her work that she wouldn't have time to try and talk to any of the hospital staff or the patients very often. In fact, she seemed reluctant to, and not just out of shyness. It wasn't like her at all.
Even now, she was away from the sights and sounds of the patients and hospital staff. That is, unless they were looking up from the outside -- where she was standing on the roof of the hospital, balancing on a step stool as she tried to hang up a clean bedsheet out to dry on one of the clotheslines that had been strung up. It was a sunny day, and there were already several others that were flapping noisily in the breeze. With a bit of effort, she managed to hang it up, and straightened out any of the creased edges by tugging here and there as she stepped down to retrieve another other.
While she was pulling it out of the laundry basket sitting on the roof, a strong wind picked up. It blew back her hair and caused the bedsheet in her grasp to flap noisily and twist around in the air until it finally loosened from her grip. Surprised, she desperately ran after it as it floated with the wind over the rooftop, not wanting it to be carried too far out of her reach. Luckily, it didn't soar higher than the chainlink fence surrounding the edge of the roof, where it hit and flattened out against it. She pulled it down from there, discouraged to see dirty little criss-cross marks patterned across it.
"....."
She sniffled, and let out a deep sigh. At least it didn't float away...
While she was there, Nill pressed a free hand against the fence and looked out over the city. A lonely expression on her face.
