worst fears [open!]
Who: Ran & anyone in Dissumulo (or wants to be!)
Where: ...Dissimulo. Near the safehouse where she lives.
When: Sometime after she learns about the corpses.
Rating: PG-13? /handwave
Summary: After speaking with Marco and being told there are corpses about, Ran decides she should probably check things out for herself, leaving her room--and the safehouse for the first time since waking up. It's not entirely the best idea she's ever had.
The Log:
[Ran knew.
She knew it would be a bad idea to leave, after speaking with Marco, after learning about everything that's been going on in Fortuna. The corpses, some that might be familiar, some that would not be--but either way, terrifying.
She knew, and yet she had stepped outside anyway, because she just has to see things for herself. And she sees the impossible.
Her parents,
They're dead.
And in her dad's line of work, it's something she's always been afraid of. Something that hits home.
It takes all her attention to focus on breathing. She can't even move. She can't even look at them again--she can't touch them, she can't go near them.
She can only stand frozen in place. Repeating...
Repeating what Shinichi would say. What Conan had told her.]
They're...they're just illusions...they're just illusions they're just--
[Her voice shakes, barely audible.
And not very convincing.]
