Summary: Heiji's finally coming back, and for simplicity's sake, he at some point received head trauma and got amnesia.
The Log:
Usually Heiji wouldn't be so irresponsible as to come back and not announce it in some manner. His lack of appearance and the margin of time that passed between his disappearance and his arrival would have set off all sorts of red flags. It was in a detective's nature to be curious about everything, yet he couldn't be anymore unaware.

Why would that be? One would think for someone of Heiji's standard that he would be all over it. The answer was simple. It was because of a minor accident he had upon his return to this distant world. The accident resulted to a hard hit in the end (which wasn't the first, and definitely not the last) causing trauma severe enough to give him amnesia. The trauma was blatantly obvious due to the dry blood that once spilled from his head. The fact that he didn't even bother to treat it was a hint all on its own.

He now wandered Discedo lost and confused. Ignorant to who he was, and where he has been.

Conan nearly runs right into him during his panicked escape from Ran's questions.

Heiji's reflexes were fast enough to dodge the collision. "Hey! Watch it, kid."

[modernholmes]

[And Conan can only point and sputter as he recognizes his best friend.]

H-Hattori- What? Where have you been?

"Hattori? Who's that?" Just to make things worse and,

"Oh this? I woke up like this. Somethin' wrong with it?"

Because injuries are totally okay.

Amnesia. Conan allows the weight of the knowledge to settle before jumping and grabbing his hand.

"You. Your name is Hattori Heiji. You are the detective of the west."He starts tugging him towards the pharmacy. "And you need to get that looked at. How long has it been since you were injured?"

[westdetective]

He had no idea where they were going now, but since Conan was a child, there wasn't any reason for Heiji not to trust him.

"How do you know who I am?" Because he's never seen you before. "Close to an hour I think." He hasn't kept track of time really.

[modernholmes]

"Because we're friends." He's shoving down all of his worries about Ran knew in favor of dealing with the immediate situation. "We've been friends for a while now. And that's too long to leave a head injury alone."

Well, whenever Conan is running around getting involved in chaos, you know that Adam isn't far behind trying to keep him...well, alive. Hell, he wasn't even supposed to be out of bed yet due to the avalanche before hand. So running it is.

That is until he spots a familiar figure close by...no way...not possible...

[westdetective]

"Friends? Are't ya a little young fer that?" Come on kid, you're far from middle school. How would he even associate with you.

"What would ya know? Yer a kid."

Not even aware of Adam at this point, but he will be.

[modernholmes]

"That's because Heiji-niichan is always coming to visit without telling anyone. We've spent lots of time talking about detectives." When he got his memories back Conan fully intended to make him pay for that.

"I'm also a detective. You don't have to an adult to know that injuries should be treated."

[kungfublackfrog]

"Conan, what are you doing out of bed? You're still recovering."

Whoopsie, someone is behind you, kid. Right now, he couldn't figure out what to say involving Heiji: hug him, kick him or who knows what. Just stay calm and talk to him.

"...where have you been all this time? Everyone's been worried about you."

[westdetective]

This was news to him. "Did we? I don't remember ever talkin' about that subject field-"

He would make a comment on that last statement, but another person came by. He knew the kid and apparently him. "Is this my friend too?" Heiji asked pointing to the stranger.

[modernholmes]

"You're a detective. You talk about mysteries all the time."

Conan hated this. It was wrong seeing the clueless expression on Hattori's face. This clueless expression anyway.

"He is. This is Adam-niichan."

Conan gives Adam a sideways look. "This is more important than that."

[kungfublackfrog]

"Avalanche. Need I say more."

Don't make him pick you up, Conan. He can and he will do it. Adam then looked at Heiji, raising an eyebrow. Did he just ask if he was friends with him? What the hell? It sounds like he doesn't even remember...SHIT.

"...what's the last thing you remember?"

"You were caught in an avalanche, kid?"

O-oh. Adam.

He thought on that, but nothing came to mind.

Okay, next was his latest memory.

[westdetective]

"I woke up here." There were several problems with that, but for his typical reasons. What he did manage to keep was his opinion that monsters, magic, and anything paranormal didn't exist. Just not that they were tricks or gigs.

Conan waves his hand dismissively. "Sort of. But that was a while ago. A head injury is more urgent."

He had no intention of being returned to bedrest when there was something like this to worry about. Not to mention his strong desire to avoid Ran right now.

"Where did you wake up here? Was it in this town?"

...he'll make him do it. Or get Owen to strap him to a bed at the hospital. But he's just going to listen to what Heiji has to say right now.

Memory loss is great, isn't it?

"How are ya runnin' around? Shouldn't ya be in bed?" HAHA, Conan! Clearly you need to be in bed.

Ignoring the question. It requires thinking and it's starting to bore a headache.

[modernholmes]

"I've been in bed for a week. A few minutes is hardly going to harm me."

Not addressing how he was moving around or the nagging pain from the exercise he was doing his best to ignore.

"We're talking about you. You practically attract danger. Plus, it takes time to heal."

Don't make him pick you up.

"Would it make ya feel better if I came with ya? Since ya call me nii-chan an' all."

This must be weird for you, Conan.

When had this started being about him? Conan shoves the irritation down at hearing Heiji actually mean that comment.

"That's okay! I can go back and rest some more after you see a doctor."

[kungfublackfrog]

"I'm dragging you both back to Dissimulo. I'll call Owen about your injury in a bit."

Firm tone. Also known as his 'don't fuck with me' tone.
