I don't want to see her cry anymore. Even if it means I no longer have a place in her heart.
Who: Conan, Ran, Heiji
What: Ran has questions. Conan has answers he doesn't want to give. Heiji doesn't help.
Where: Their house in Dissimulo
The hours spent waiting for a conversation you didn't want to have were really the longest in the world.
Conan sits in bed and stares dully at the wall. What else could he do? He couldn't run. Every person in this house was fully prepared to enforce bedrest if he tried to leave again.
What a complicated situation this had become. Hattori was back, but with amnesia. He had no memory of their friendship or the truth behind Conan Edogawa. And Ran... she had probably figured it out by now. At the least that something terrible had happened to Shinichi that night at Tropical Land. And that Conan knew more than he had ever admitted to.
What was he going to do?

What was he going to do?

...She hadn't slept well; but this was better than nothing, and she sighs, their conversation still playing in her mind, despite the rest.
While waiting for...well, something to happen, she grabs her communicator to idly look at any broadcasts that may have been made while she slept.
Beyond that, though, she notices something much more important. A certain name, and it's been a while since she's seen it.
...Heiji? Has he finally returned? How long has his name been there?
She glances at the stairs for a moment while she thinks, contemplating going up to check in his room...and maybe Conan's as well, while she's at it. But she decides to wait a little while longer in solitude, wondering what to do now.]

Hey, Kudo, what's this thing?
[Heiji didn't bother to correct himself. He wasn't even aware of what he had just done.]

What are you talking about? Shinichi-niichan isn't here! My name is Conan. Conan!

She's left staring between the two of them, stunned, before words finally find their way out of her mouth.
Directed at Heiji.]
...This isn't the first time you've called him Kudo, either. And what d'you mean, "what's this thing"?
[Last she checked, Heiji knew how to use the communicator better than she did!]
threadjumping to move this along
Heiji-niichan is just confused. It's because we look a little similar, right?
Yeah sorry for this late reply too Dx
[Heiji pushed the communicator onto her.] Is it a phone?

[She gives Conan a stern look, because she still doesn't believe him. And then she turns back to Heiji. Because seriously, wat.]
You really don't remember?

[She can see Conan flinch out of the corner of her eye. There is already so much going on in her mind; this is the last thing they need right now, even if she is glad to see Heiji...]
