Summary: Sora is finally going to tell her feelings
The Log:

The recent event had finally calmed down and Sora was happy not to be sprouting wings or chirping. She wasn't sure how long the next calm was so this was needed. Like yesterday needed.

The first moment she had, she left Kresnik a message on his communicator, asking if she could see him and that she would be waiting at her practice spot. Now she was sitting on a tree branch, waiting for him to show.

After receiving her message, Kresnik starts heading over to the spot that Sora designated, wondering what she wants to tell him.

He did show. It just made Sora more nervous and she wanted to just turn around and forget the whole thing. But it was going to get worse if nothing was said...that and Marco would most likely want to know what was going on. Phoenix brothers were weird.

When she spots the commander heading her way, the acrobat jumps off the branch and just stands there.

"Thanks for seeing me. I need to talk to you before anything else happens."

He stands before her, looking serious as usual. "Is something wrong?" There are still nanomachines in her as well... he needs to talk to the doctors again soon.

"That's a habit isn't it?"

Referring to every time they talked recently was due to her being in danger. Sora really wanted to stop that from occuring anytime soon.

"...no, nothing's wrong. I just need to tell you something important that I can't say over the communicators. It needs to be said directly to you."

She shuffles her feet and looks down at her hands. Sheesh, saying this thing was too hard in front of the person you care about. Whoever told her otherwise, they were lying.

That isn't what he meant when he said that, but he lets her continue.

"...What is it, Sora?" He sounds a little worried, not quite understanding this sudden behavior from her.

Meh, who knows with these guys.

"...why is this so hard?"

Calm down Sora, take a deep breath and let it out.

"That text message from a couple weeks ago...I didn't write it but it described how I really feel."

Wait a minute.

"Er, I mean..." She hangs her head low. "Crap, I'm sorry. It doesn't make sense does it?"

He's quiet for a moment, trying to think about the message she's talking about.

"...what about it?"

She tugs at her arm and bits her lower lip. Her mind kept screaming for Sora to just spit it out already. There is no going back now, do or die.

"...it was meant for you."

[nameofexorcist]

There's a long moment of silence as Kresnik processes what Sora just said to him.

"....."

He definitely wasn't expecting this.

A moment that feels like forever.

"I'm sorry I didn't say it then."

[nameofexorcist]

Finally, Kresnik begins to speak, although his tone is a little quieter than normal.

"...I can't accept your sentiment, Sora. I'm sorry."

She knew there was a chance that this would happen. Even told Marco that she would want to still be there with him as a friend if he wanted it. But why was there a pit forming at the bottom of her stomach?

She couldn't open her mouth and ask why. It was like her voice escaped her. Nice job there body, give up when you're needed the most.

He notices her silence, but he continues to speak.

"...I don't have romantic feelings for you or anyone at all."

Ouch. That sounded painful.

"I see then."

Her voice was quiet as she spoke, not knowing what else to say. Sora admitted her feelings, he told her how he felt about it, there was no need to stay longer after that. She wasn't one to beg or plead for answers and it wasn't going to start now. Besides, now the air was getting uncomfortable and the woman just wanted to go now.

"I'm sorry for everything. I should go now."

She puts on a small smile but it's clearly forced.

He isn't quite sure what to say to her. His rejection is obviously hurting her, but he didn't want to lie to her either.

"...Your well-being is still important to me."

Ok, I still feel a little awkward writing this kind of stuff.

Because of the machines in her of course. Or that's what she keeps telling herself right now.

"I know Misutanaito."

He assumes that Sora knows that he cares about her past the nanomachines, so he doesn't say anything further about that.

"...I'll walk you back."

[dreamsonwings]

If he only knew...

"It's alright, town isn't very far."

[nameofexorcist]

"...It's still dangerous out here."

[dreamsonwings]

"I'll be fine. It's not like it's the first time I've been out here on my own."

Besides, it would be awkward right now.

"....."

Ordinarily, he would push it more, but he decides to let it go this time. "Alright."

Good idea.

And she nods then walks away from the area, not even saying a farewell. It didn't feel right to do it.

He doesn't say anything either, letting Sora walk away from him.
