Battle royale. Sort of.

Summary: Turkey and Sasuke are way too good at antagonizing each other. Solution? Verbal banter aside, onto physical fighting!
The Log:

It's been an eventful two days, to put it extremely lightly, but in Sasuke's mind that in no way signals a need for rest. No. There's an opportunity for a fight, even if it's only a spar, and given what he had to say to coax out that much he's certainly not backing down from it. Upon terminating his conversation with Turkey he quickly locates his chokuto, vacating the apartment altogether in order to rendezvous with him at the park.

The weather is what he would term as ideal, but he's already anticipating further complaints. Luckily Turkey's not hard to find.

"You actually came. I'm surprised."

[ Unfortunately there's little to make contact with regarding this weapon, certainly no wrist guard to speak of. He tries to keep a close eye on Turkey's form, having a natural tendency to seek out patterns in his opponents rather than just respond to each motion on the fly. Too bad he doesn't have the sharingan.

Or the ability to electrify his sword, but that's "cheating". Still... there's something uniquely exciting about the thought that he's combatting a nation right now. Sasuke keeps any smirks to himself as he parries that strike in return, switching to a reverse grip for the next few quick engagements. He does a little more dodging than blocking himself, only having had a few years of sword-training so a bit of acrobatic movement will have to buffer that. ... Manly acrobatic movement. ]

['manly acrobatic movement'. he'd like that description. whilst sasuke's one for dodging, it's immediately evident that he's one for blocking. strength has always ranked well over speed in his department, however agile he could prove to be should the situation call for it. but even that, that was employed for show.

his movements are steady. relentless. when there swords would meet, he'd push. push until the scrape of metal against metal became audible, and either ran out of sword. though, he's beginning to think sasuke's moves a touch predictable, himself-- he'd expect it against any human, really, what with having thousands of years of combat experience.

the only thing that would surprise him is sasuke suddenly shooting flames from his mouth, or something ridiculous like that.]

[ Oh, if only. He has plenty of tricks up his sleeves he wouldn't mind employing, given the opportunity. Trapping Turkey in an illusion of freezing weather would be appropriate... Hn.

The childish thought vanishes as Sasuke directs his full attention on Turkey, on their fight. He's good. With so many different powers thrown into the mix in this world it's hard for him to imagine testing his skills against them; swordplay is in some ways more practical. Their blades meet again and for a moment he feels overwhelmed, only as physically strong as his size itself indicated with that chip still in.

Sasuke falters, barely deflecting the strike at the last minute and actually stumbling a step to the side in the process. ] Tch...

[seeing his opportunity, turkey grins. the step is matched, however uneven the original one was, and he raises his sword high.

-- but then it's not for a final blow, or anything of the sort, as it usually would be. it's been at the front of his thoughts that he only had to nick him somewhere, a small cut or even a bruise, in order to win this challenge (however tempting it was otherwise). another half a second since the stumble, and he aims his sword down towards sasuke's shoulder.

with the goal in mind, it's without his usual strength, substituted instead for quickness.]

[ Perhaps coming into this he should've anticipated a little more unpredictability from Turkey than he did. Then again, Sasuke also hadn't expected him to be particularly skilled, given his general attitude and despite his former claims. What a rookie mistake.

When he does raise that sword it's a little too late, the angle too awkward to stop the blow entirely and only serving to lessen its severity. A brief flinch for the cut that follows, a brief sense of relief that it isn't a gash instead. Sasuke again jerks back; there's only a moment of attention given his shoulder before he's looking to Turkey again. ]

... You're not as incompetent as you seem.

[still grinning as he draws his sword away, though refrains from sheathing it quite yet. don't worry, sasuke. fighting is one of the few things sadiq's good at, the idea of incompetence will be in full swing sooner or later.

he claps sasuke on the back.]

That means two wins for me, right!

[ URK. Immediately he tenses, pride burning at the moment. What the fuck... ]

Do not touch me. [ Even if they hadn't set conditions for the 'spar' itself it probably wouldn't be appropriate to suddenly make it a fight to death, would it? ]

[oh right no touching rule or whatever. only violent touching allowed apparently, for whatever reason. he steps back, putting both his hands up defensively. meaning the sword goes up as well.]

[ ... Attacking him while he's unarmed would also probably be against the unwritten rules. Damn. ]

... What was it? [ Feigning ignorance in the worst way; he knows exactly what it is. ]

[but that doesn't mean he's any less willing to reiterate.]

Ya tell the network how attractive 'n desirable ya think I am, yadda yadda, make it believable an' keep goin' with it!

[ Okay, how in the hell is it not legitimate to ask for clarification on that? Even if Sasuke's sudden amnesia about it there was a little too convenient. ]

Why can I not just say you're strong?

Cuz that wasn't the deal. I proved ya wrong in both aspects now, haven't I?

[all right, now he'll sheath his sword. and resist giving sasuke another pat on the shoulder or whatnot. geez it's really hard not to be so douchily-condescending through shows of affection sometimes.

[ To say 'if looks could kill' is especially inappropriate, given that with Sasuke they normally can. Though in all honesty, he has no desire to kill him. Prove him wrong? Yes. Eradicate him altogether? A bit harsh.

Sasuke turns, sliding his own sword back into its sheath. ]

Get back inside before you freeze. [ Bitter bitter. ]
