Summary: Why tension is needed for archery to work
The Log:

((Clive stands with his bow over his shoulder, staring forward a moment and sighing. His quiver of arrows--some broken and delicately repaired--sits at his feet and he puts a hand on is hip and frowns.))

You know, for once, that even felt like a good shot.

Ah. You are getting better. [ He brushes his hand through his hair, pushing his bangs out of his face. ]

Maybe you can try something that moves, soon.

I'll have to, next time I'm hunting. ((sighs.)) You realize Sasuke, before you arrived here, I was the one trapping animals for Flora, Takato, and Guilmon, no?

Give it a week and I really will have something to brag about.

[ A pause... and then an actual expression of muted amusement. ]

I hope that you do. I can show you a lot more than just that, later.

We should hunt, together.

I want to find something big. A challenge. [ Another new word he's learned. This is one he's already very fond of using. ]

I'm sure out in the woods we'd find something "big". Perhaps we should invest in a small expedition outside the city for a while.

You should not let your guard down, or overestimate me.

If I'm overestimating you, you should feel honoured. I don't tend to think highly of others.

((Oh and.. I just figure he's pausing and talking on and off as he shoots.))

It does not matter if I feel good about myself if we end up dead. [ Buzzkill. ]

((A sort of chuckle and smile. Clive returns to the silence of his practice, moving just a hint faster without the distraction.))

By the way... have you heard from Flora at all since she left..?

Ah. I have not.

It's possible that I said something bad to her. [ Not that it would be the first time. ]

No, I don't think it's would be that. Flora is too forgiving. She forgave me for all the things I did, after all, and you know, Sasuke, that I have wronged her more than you ever have.

No, something I said to her a little while ago. She might have gone too far with it.

I told her she should go out and find a goal for herself. Maybe she did too much. [ He continues to watch as Clive practices. ]

Well, if it were something like that, perhaps it will be good for her. What's best for her, even...

Flora is a daring woman, if given the chance. I remember her having quite the punch.

[ Sasuke wonders if they're talking about the same Flora for a moment, remembering very few times that he'd seen her angry. Oh, if only he knew. ]
