The Log:

[ This is an open log for those who wish to explore Lachesistein freely, and it can take place any time between July 16th and 26th. For more information on Lachesistein, please refer to the Exploration plotting post. If something comes up at all, make sure to contact a mod with your questions or concerns.

... [ Shizuo's eyes harden and he clenches his jaw. How someone could take such an innocent person's sibling... it pisses him off to no end. He speeds up, long legs carrying him farther, faster.

And he peers over his shoulder once at her. ] We'll find Vietnam-san. And Kasuka. And Asano-san. And Mairu and Kururi. And your brother's friend. [ He says resolutely, listing off those he fully intends to save. ]

[meilihua]

[Running to keep up, and trying to smile reassuringly] Y-yes!

[shortestfuse]

[ Looking up a bit, the figure of the mall looms up ahead and he takes a deep breath before nodding. ] Alright, we'll check this place I guess.

[ He's never been one for adventure, but shouldering open the heavy doors to the shopping mall, he feels as though he's been thrown right into one. ]

It looks like people were just here, like they all just up and left all of a sudden.

[meilihua]

[Her interest in a mall is not always entirely rational, but her half-excitement is quickly sobered when she sees what this one is like. She shudders a little bit] A-at least there aren't any... [Bodies, she means to say, and thinks better of it]

Yeah. [ He agrees, even though he has no idea what she was about to say. It just felt right at the time. ] This place is pretty spooky.

[ No problem in exclaiming that; he regrets it for his voice echoes through the place easily. ] I wonder if there are any lights we can find to turn on.

[meilihua]

[She's really hoping they can, because...yeah...]

M-maybe we should stay close to the wall?

[shortestfuse]

That sounds good. [ Shizuo lets her drift nearer to the wall and he stands on her opposite side. This way nothing would come to harm her unless it went through him first. ] Are you scared?

[meilihua]

[Smiling a little, a soft, shaky laugh] M-maybe just a little bit. It's a bit creepy.

[shortestfuse]

Me too. [ He admits plainly, glancing at her. ] We can go find someplace to stay, if you want.

Since we've got a lot of time here. Maybe the daylight'll help us search... unless it is daytime...

[ He spots an elevator and motions to it. ] Maybe there're one of those couch stores, you know?

[meilihua]

You know, I do think it's night-time though... [Because otherwise, the mind just boggles]

Maybe a furniture or mattress place, that would be ni- [Wait...

Wait a second here.

It's just her and Shizuo in here...isn't it? Whyyyy...]

Maybe there's a store map... [ Voila! He stares at the board, finger touching a box on the second floor. ]

Ah, here it is. We can make it there easy. Then you can rest and- [ He tilts his head, oblivious. ] You okay...?

[meilihua]

Y-yeah! I'm...I'm fine, nothing's wrong... [Oh my god, her face was completely red, wasn't it?]

Do you have a fever? I'm not medically trained or anything.

[ A palm to her forehead. ]

[Oh no, oh no, this was even worse, he was standing so close]

U-um! I'm...pretty sure I don't...have a fever...

[Miiiight be getting a little warm in here though]

[shortestfuse]

... [ Squuuuint. Are you lying to him... ] Well, if you're sure...

It wouldn't be good to have a fever here of all places with me of all people. I don't know a thing about doctoring someone, especially in a weird place without, you know, medicine or whatever. I don't want you to faint or nothing.

[ He begins to ascend the escalator, long legs carrying him quickly. ] Tell me if you need help or something.

I'm sure, I'm sure! [Have a smile - it's a real one, through the blush, anyway.

She's going to push herself - she's not out of shape, just a little nervous - to keep up with him]

I'll be okay, you really don't have to worry...

[shortestfuse]

I'm. [ Was he worrying? That's embarrassing... he looks up. ] I told Hong Kong I'd look out for ya, you know?

[meilihua]

I know, but I said I'd look out for you too!

[shortestfuse]

Oh yeah. So don't get sick. [ He smiles down at her. ] Ah there we go, look. Couches.

[ They're surrounded in couches and flat screen TVs. They are probably all unpowered. ]

It's weird being in here overnight. I always wanted to do something like this when I was a kid, you know?

[meilihua]

[Peering cautiously at the couches, but they look safe enough] Y-yeah! Well...I still kind of wanted to do it even when I was older, eheh...

I always imagined the dolls or toys in the shops coming alive after everyone left and...I really wanted to see... [Taiwan, get over yourself, you're a grown woman now-!]

[shortestfuse]

Heh, like Toy Story. [ He chuckles, thinking of the children's movie. He wonders if she's seen it...

Do countries watch movies? ] I wanted to raid the candy stores and ride on the bikes.

[meilihua]

Yes! Just like that! Ah, those movies always make me cry...

[Wow, Shizuo, you were clearly the coolest kid] Aw, why didn't I think of that...

[shortestfuse]

Yeah, they got pretty sad. [ Not a tear from Shizuo was shed over Woody and his comrades, however.

He sniffs, amused, distracted from his surroundings as she speaks. ] Your idea's way more creative than mine.
