[ This is an open log for those who wish to explore Lachesistein freely, and it can take place any time between July 16th and 26th. [She peers at it from behind his arm] W-what do you think it is? It looks kind of like a spider...

Looks like that to me too. [ Moves closer. ] Do I throw it away?

[meilihua]

Well...it...hasn't actually done anything yet.

Other than wake us up... Maybe it's friendly?

[shortestfuse]

... [ He crouches down by it only to have it stab him in the foot through his dress shoe.

He stares at it, expression flat. ] I don't think it's friendly. Whaddaya want me to do with it.

[meilihua]

[WHAT-] S-shizuo! [Completely forgot to be polite in her panic] Are you okay? I can't believe it did that-

[shortestfuse]

Okay...? [ Looks down. ] Oh, that. Yeah. Shit doesn't even hurt. Are you okay?

[meilihua]

H-how can that not hurt...? [She's just...staring in horror. What was your question?]

[shortestfuse]

I don't really know. I don't feel much. [ He pulls his leg away from the spider as it advances again. ]

[meilihua]

H-huh? What does that mean? [Dragging on Shizuo's arm and pulling them both backwards away from the spider with surprising strength]

[shortestfuse]

It means- woah. [ He teeters when she tugs him back.

Then stares over at her. ] Means what it sounds like. I can't feel much.

Pain normally. Other strong sensations sometimes.

[meilihua]

[Keeping an eye on the spider even as she struggles to understand what he's saying] You mean you're...good at ignoring it? Pain?

[shortestfuse]

No. I'm good at not feelin' it. My body... it's got a really high tolerance.

[ He looks down. ] Somethin' like this feels like a poke.

[meilihua]

...but it stabbed you...

[Seriously, what was that thing-]

[shortestfuse]

Yeah. [ He looks down at his foot and damaged shoe.

Then stares at their arms. Still connected.

And turns a bit red in the face. ]

I'll go... get rid of it...

[meilihua]

[She hasn't even noticed, don't point it out.] W-well it's not following us...yet...

[shortestfuse]

[ He'd never dream of it. ]

We can... keep movin'...?

[meilihua]

But are you rested enough? [Also, your foot got stabbed why is she the only one who seems worried about this?!]

[shortestfuse]

Oh yeah, I'm fine. [ It doesn't hurt a bit! He's a weirdo like that. ] Did you wanna sleep?

[meilihua]

N-no, I think if I tried to go to sleep now I'd have nightmares... Better to just keep going, yeah?

[shortestfuse]

[ Nightmares. He feels a pang in his chest and frowns a little. ] Yeah if you wanna...

[ So he sets out. Unsure of where to go. ] You wanna go anywhere in particular?

[meilihua]

Um...somewhere safe? [Sorry, bad joke, bad joke...]

[shortestfuse]

[ He sniffs, amused. ] Okay, somewhere safe. [ He pulls her along by the arm still wrapped around his. ]

[Oh, she just noticed-

But they're running somewhere, so maybe he's just being nice? Making sure she doesn't get lost?]

[shortestfuse]

[ They stop a few stores down. A clothing store. ]

Well, it's not really much different... there's a grocery store attached here...

[ He points at the map when he drags it out of his pocket. ]

Maybe we could go in and see if there's anything useful? I'm sure everyone else is getting a little hungry...
