The Log:

[ This is an open log for those who wish to explore Lachesistein freely, and it can take place any time between July 16th and 26th. For more information on Lachesistein, please refer to the Exploration plotting post. If something comes up at all, make sure to contact a mod with your questions or concerns.

[ At a certain point, his teammate is going to ditch him for being a walking-talking bullseye and he's left to wander around aimlessly. He does have a goal, but they have days to explore. He might as well take his time.

The letter from his own brother, Mangetsu, doesn't have him concerned. The guy is dead, has been for a while and he'd come to terms with it a long time ago. He'd shouldered both of their dreams - it only drove him farther, closer to succeeding. But he's curious to find out who exactly would slander his name by forging such a thing. ]

This place is so gross... [ He announces to the mist as he steps over a puddle of something on the ground, sticking close to the warehouses nearing the back of the city. ]

You don't like water?

[A bemused voice drifts out of the surrounding mist as Izaya remains hidden within it's dank folds. Not that it mattered. This guy was after all, familiar with Sasuke. Though he was still unsure of their relationship it could only be presumed this one was also a 'ninja' and could find him if he wanted to.]

Or just this place in general?

[ Suigetsu deftly pulls out his kunai and spins it lazily on his index finger. ] This place, obviously. It's a dump.

[ He assesses the fog with an expression that matches the mysterious voice; he's smirking - it's broad and sharp - as he turns his face to where he assumes the noise is coming from. ]

And it's not water, genius. It's something else entirely; consistency's more like oil. I can always introduce you to it. You can give it a taste and let me know~

[Izaya laughs at the other's words. The sound is muffled by the thick air and they seem to be reason enough to coax him into finally revealing himself to the fair-haired male.]

Maybe later.

[Izaya walks slowly up to the other, hands in his jacket's pocket, and seems unconcerned with any danger the other might pose to him]

For now I think I am more curious as to who could have been taken from you.

[ When the informant slips out of the mist, Suigetsu pockets the kunai. Hidden, he's a threat. In the open? Well.

Looks as though they both like seemingly underestimating strangers. In reality, he's always coiled and ready. As a ninja, you never truly let your guard down. Especially not to someone with an expression like that. ]

My brother. [ Suigetsu states simply, shrugging; he's nonchalant. It doesn't bother him in the slightest, apparently. ] He's dead though, so I'm anticipating a trap~

[How odd...

Izaya grinned]

So you came along out of curiosity for this trap?

[The informant stops a safe distance from the other male, hands still hidden in his pockets as his gaze fixates upon the others eyes]

Or because deep down you do actually hope for some kind of a family reunion?

Hahaha! [ Suigetsu plants his hands on his waist and cocks a hip to the side. ] Yeah right. Can't I enjoy the thrill of an attempted ambush? They're doing a terrible job so far. Monsters? Really?

[ Now that he mentions it, he does have blood spatter on his shirt - it's fairly new. ] I got a question for you. Did you come in on the train, or were you already here? Based on your answer, I might have to dispatch you~

[Izaya laughed, the sound haughty and yet thoroughly amused by this creatures manner of speaking. (While he appeared to be human there was something off about him. Something that felt all too similar to the way Shizuo felt)]

And which answer will cause my untimely demise?

[Izaya did a small half skip forward so he was right in front of the other male. Hands finally leaving his pockets he leaned up so as to try and be eye to eye with the somewhat taller monster.]

You're the one who looks more like a monster~ Shouldn't I be trying to kill you?

[ Suigetsu looks up momentarily, thinking on this. ] Ah, well I can't guarantee either. No one's around, so I could just kill you. No one would really find out!

[ He watches Izaya boldly sidle up to him, lips stretched into a broad smile. He leans forward a bit so he could utilize his height to stare down his nose at the other. And the smile grows into a razor sharp smirk, shark-like teeth bared. ]

I look like a monster...? Me? [ He appears scandalized. ]

[ The expression quickly turns sly. ] I am a monster. Scarier than any of the ones you'll find creeping around in the dark.

I can be accommodating! [ Suigetsu reaches to pinch Izaya's cheek, cackling. ] But you'd look great without a head, stranger-san~

[Izaya's lips quirk even higher, his own grin broad even as the other pinches at his cheeks]

I'd look great no matter what

[Vanity speaking for him Izaya pulled away so he could circle around the strange monster.]

You on the other hand could use some help

[Izaya gave a small jump so his arms could loop around the other males neck and he holds on as though he were waiting for a piggy back ride.

Almost trusting that this creature wouldn't hurt him just yet]

My names Orihara Izaya. I'd say you'd do well to remember it but I know you will.

[No one forgets him]

And I'm looking for my sisters. If it's a trap you want why not help me find them? Since your brother's dead and all I'm sure you'd have an easier time tracking someone alive.

You insult me and think you can ride me? [ Suigetsu smirks, innuendo clear. He has that kunai out and its tip is resting against Izaya's side. ]

This place can do weird shit, haven't you heard? If they do have him - which is doubtful - they've probably revived him. No small wonder, considering the fact that when you die in this dump, you come back somehow. An interestingly fucked up reanimation jutsu.

[ A shrug, jostling the older male a little. ] I'm going my own way, I'm not just looking for my brother. I'm searching for anything I can find wherever I can find it - I couldn't give less of a shit about your sisters~ but if you're planning on tagging along...

[ His smirk falters only momentarily as he sneers out a proper reply. ] You might wanna get off of me in three... two...

One! [ He grips the kunai tight and slashes behind him in a pretty warning swing. ]

[The thing with this monster was, despite his unpredictability, there was also a sense of recognition that helped Izaya to remain aware of what was to come next at least a few moments before it were to arrive.

Unlike with Shizuo where he had no clue what the other's actions would be. This one at least seemed like he could be manipulated like Celty]

So you are hoping for a family reunion~

[Izaya's own flickblade appeared in his hand in a flash as he attempted to disarm the opponent before letting go to put some distance between them again. The kunai hinted at this male being yet another ninja which meant Izaya had to be on his toes.

Just how many of these ninja folk were taken here anyways?]

A family reunion? You really shouldn't speculate. You're awful at it, Izaya. [ Suigetsu slashes at the flick-blade easily while he laughs, a nonchalance in his movements and words that reeks of condescension.

He likes a challenge; if Izaya can fight, that means he'll at least expect to break a sweat if he goes all out against him. If not... just another piece of trash to dismember and behead. Just another tick on the tally. It seems like they're playing with one another though - an equivalent desire to see which party bends to the other.

That, Izaya, is never going to happen. He may be predictable, but it's because he wants to be. ]

There's no particular reason. [ It's the honest truth, something Suigetsu has never had trouble admitting. ] I was bored, so coming along got me out of the cabin before the fever set in, you know? Ah, that reminds me.

[ He turns and walks off in no specific direction, giving a little wave over his shoudler without looking back as he meanders into one of the warehouses. ]

[Izaya's face looks almost maniacal with how much amusement he was getting out of this person's peculiar behavior.

Without even seeking permission he all but skips after Suigetsu into the warehouse.]

I reminded you of a dank and dark warehouse, Whitey-chan~?

[Come to think of it he still didn't know Suigetsu's name. Which meant he would be coming up with several nicknames before finding one he liked]

Hahaha, pretty much. From the outside it looks like a normal old building, y'know, but on the inside...

It's pretty cold and barren, don't you think? [ He walks further in, surveying the large conveyors. It looks like an abandoned factory. From the looks of things, a bottling plant. His eyes scan the area before drifting back to Izaya who has, temporary, been deemed a non-issue

But he's always on guard, no matter how amused he looks. ] It's Houzuki Suigetsu.

You seem to presume a lot about me, Suigetsu-san

[Izaya remains in the doorway to the old building, eyes mischievous again, as though he expected something to happen soon within the building.]

That's 'cause I've met a million and one guys like you. And. [ He smiles mildly, doing a little turn in the middle of the building. ]

It's no secret. [ He stalks up to Izaya easily, no air of hostility, stopping inches away. ] That guys like us understand one another. Right, Izaya?

[ Clasping his hands together, he spreads his arms eccentrically, a broader grin on his face. ]

Because I'm the same! I can see it in your eyes, man. We're actually more commonplace than you think~

[Izaya laughs, his amusement sounding almost genuine as he continues to watch Suigetsu. The only thing hard to tell was what exactly he was laughing at.]

I'd prefer not to be compared with a monster, Sui-chan~

[Despite his words Izaya bounds slightly forward to close the distance even more between them.]

But you're more fun than certain other monsters I know.
