'Bout a year ago. Big ol mushroom cloud on the horizon--'course it wasn't nearly as impressive as the arsenal I've got--but anyway there was some fallout so we all had to disperse. I went to Dissimulo, some others went to Spero--pretty sure the two angry boy trolls and Nep were on that trip--and then some other people went exploring this way. Things got kinda busy for me so I mostly was paying attention to Dissimulo and Spero.

[ because that's where Tatsumi was, but he won't go into that. not in front of Terezi. NOT WHEN HE IS TRYING TO DEFEAT HER. ]

Oh yeah, Captain America can do anything! But I dunno how comfortable I am with letting a kid as young as you try and fight some unknown though undoubtedly terrifying foe! Can't let a lil' lady get hurt.

[ Plot twist America is kinda sexist and still lives in the days of southern chivalry where he wants to protect all the womens. whoops. When she moves in to hug Steve, he too moves closer to loop his good arm around Steve's shoulders. ]

Don't worry though, we'll protect you. Right, Steve?

[ I can only imagine that Steve is slowly becoming France in this icon. ]

[Steve listens to America as he explains.] Same bomb that hit Accido?

[And Steve warily eyes both of them as they wrap an arm around him. Although, he does find himself agreeing with America, well the kid part of it.] Miss Terezi, I don't want children to be fighting in this.

Don't let my youthful curves and good looks deceive you! I'm actually incredibly battle-tested and quite capable of dishing out some serious butt-kickery. [ She leans over and smacks America in the shins with her cane for emphasis. ]

[ Damn, just when he thought he had it all figured out, he's hit right in the shins. ]

GAH!

[ America refuses to remove his hand from Steve's shoulder just to rub his sore shins. Instead he has to stand on one leg and rub them with his other calf. It's a system and it works shhhhh. ]

No matter how capable you are, I still don't want ya getting hurt! [ Half of that was trying to secure his spot as Steve's #1 fan, but half of that is genuine. ] I mean, even if you can hold up like the cat troll, I know you guys ain't super heroes or nothing! Eridan barfed all over my shoes after I shook him.

[ Before that can be misconstrued as child abuse, he quickly turns to Cap. ] It wasn't that hard and to be fair, he busted down my door and shot me first for no apparent reason. And I fixed him up afterwards so all was good.

[Steve thought he could feel the beginnings of a headache form, but he ignores it and moves away from their hold.] ...Just stay close to us, Miss Terezi. [It would be better to keep an eye on Terezi than having her go off on her own anyway.]

And we need to start working together. Instead of arguing.

Oh, of course! I'll stay close and work together. Double the action, double the investigative fury. Besides, if something bad happens, I'm sure America would be completely willing and able to act as a human shield. He's very noble like that, right?

[ now that i am back in the united states, i may tag this patriotic lovefest. ]
