Summary: the naruto cast is on a journey into the woods before the chip removal, and then some of the shenanigans prior

Watching you when you're like this doesn't make it easier for me to relax.

Though I don't intend to fight you. [ Indeed, he suddenly twirls that sword to hold the hilt out towards Suigetsu instead. ] I wanted to see you use Kusanagi. I think it's too sturdy and powerful a sword to make a match between us even right now.

I'm not like anything, I'm burning daylight, I'm fucking bored.

[ Lies upon lies. He shifts on his feet. Reaching out to accept the sword without much question, Suigetsu's eyes run along the polished steel and he smirks dryly, discarding his other two. By gently laying them down at their feet in their sheaths. ]

Now you're just teasing me. [ It's light, strong, perfectly balanced. The hilt could use binding, but it wasn't an issue for his hands. He gives a practice swipe. ]

That would be a waste of my time. [ No, he's doing what he sees as necessary. Perhaps he isn't a socially aware person but seeing Suigetsu like this... there's something antsy about him right now. Sasuke doesn't like it. ]

Try it out on something if you want. It won't chip easily.

[ So he's looking away, spinning the blade expertly over his fingers, holding fast, letting the weight of the sword and his arm govern the edge.

It touches the thin, matchstick-looking tree and seems to move through it like butter. His feet slide into a follow-through footing and he breathes quietly at the finish, watching the dead plant snap. It falls with a loud crack and boom, the wind whipping at his pant legs. ]

[ Oh, it's kept sharp alright. His weapons are the only material objects that Sasuke gives a damn about. They don't exactly keep much else. ]

Impressive technique, as expected. When you have your Kubikiribouchou I will have to challenge you properly.

[ There's a long silence. It's like he's assessing the tree that fell, except more solemn. ]

It's broken. [ He replied in a lazy drawl, turning his face to Sasuke. ] In half. It snapped.

[ He is pissed about this. ]

Is that how it is... I remember it becoming damaged.

If you saved the fragments I don't mind taking the time to have it repaired. Or to secure you another sword as its replacement.

Juugo helped me find what was left of it. That was Zabuza-senpai's. Another sword just won't cut it.

There are other legendary swords that you'll need to get your hands on. That's all that I mean.

I think that your legacy is one of strong swordsmanship and that your family might have had older ties.

That means going back to the Mist to find out, you know that right? Even if I wanted to go there, which I don't, who's to say they'll let me walk around freely? It's not much of a secret, this ragtag team. Word carries.

[ His eyes cast up to the sky, then away so Sasuke's not in his line of vision. ]

That's happening soon, though. Won't take long now.

[ ... alright, he's allowed Suigetsu enough breaks without calling him out. No longer. ]

You seem concerned.

[ Stiffening, he turns his face a little and deadpans.

Then just as quickly, he's looking over, with a hand in the air. ]

THIS BITCH DOESN'T KNOW WHAT SHE'S DOING.

We can make the assumption that she knows more about it than either of us do. If I do nothing then things I'll remain powerless here for forever.

I still think she's gonna sabotage you.

OBVIOUSLY NOT, JUST- get another person to do it... there are other doctors...

I've asked for them in the past, but it's never been fruitful.
