It wasn't in the Gambler's nature to bother with the unseemly problems of others, but in this one instance, he saw that it was to his benefit. Over thirty times the boy had managed to beat him, and though it was a series out of many, the whole of which he won, Luxord couldn't help but be impressed. Such potential could make for an amusing stay.

Honestly, those simple reasons were alone enough to convince him to meet Sai halfway, ensuring that he at least made it to the apartment for a second round of cards.
