The Log:

((The message probably came around noon: hey! the blind dates will be tonight at seven. make sure you dress warm, it was pretty chilly last year. thanks for signing up! Now, for some of you might have come as a surprise: "I was signed up for what?" though others already know it was coming for them. Either way, you chose to see exactly what it was you were signed up for. Perhaps a secret lover wanted to meet up with you and were too shy to ask? Wherever you come from, the roof of Latimir is your destination.

The weather was only so-so. Winds blow over the cold roof, table cloths of low quality shutter at their touch. It seems Greece has a campfires set up in three place carefully protected by metal bases to prevent fire damage, and around each tables are set up. At the very center, Greece is sitting, and when he sees someone approach, smiles, bringing him or her to the designated spot. He'll bring the small dinner when your date has arrived! He returns to his spot, clearly attending a soup at the center of the event.

The table seems to be set with only a paper flower set in a small dish. Your number, in black, fading marker stands upright before you, and your partner's number sits across from you. Around you may be the other guests, whom you may approach and talk with if you see fit.

If you look at the other side of the card, you may find a few hints and tips to get conversation going. "Cats" "I can kick your ass" "Scones" "Flowers" and the like are scribbled onto every card.

It's a bit nerve wrecking to arrive before your date, but don't be too worried. Eventually, he or she will show up, and if you were lucky, your date and you won't already hate eachother. It's funny how things work.

[ A part of him wishes he knew a little something about the person who would be arriving. Maybe his or her customs, so he could react properly... but the anonymity was also part of the fun! Macau looks up when he hears a greeting, smiling and immediately standing to take his hand in a firm shake. ]

[Denzel takes the offer handshake, though he shakes like a limp noodle before taking a seat, which he appears to lean forward, why. It may be hard to tell with the three coats the man has on that he has a curved spine.]

Looks like my house back where I'm from. Just needs the spiders and dogs.

While I have met people from other worlds that are very different from my own, I can assure you that I'm familiar with dogs and spiders. I'm quite fond of both, Mr. Crocker.

The dogs where hounds and the spiders tranchulas. Donny, Maria, Ringo, Paul, John - [sigh. He was starting to miss them now with a groan] Don't know how those scientists [with a spit of hate] thought I, Mr. Crocker, had a parrot from back home... Not that I can complain. I like birds. [But still it's not like he ever had a pet parrot, right?]

Those are very inspired names. Ringo, Paul, and John? Could those be references to The Beatles?

Actually, they are! I named all of my pets so far after rock n roll stars. You listened to The Beatles as well?

But of course! I love music; I made no exception for the 1960s.

I could never get into the new 'Hip Hop' and 'Pop' youngers listen to now a days. If you ask me, Rock N Roll is the only way to go. But then that's what I grew on, yes.

I've gone through many different auditory phases. Now I mostly listen to the music that my brother produces... A lot of it is "pop", as you say.

Denzel shurgs, he couldn't get into that so called 'pop' music kids listen to now a days, "You're making me feel old." Pause, "I never had a sibling." There was a long pause as Denzel scambles to talk about something else other then his father issues, "What was it you did for a living from the world in which you came from?"

Oh, me? I make the majority of my revenue through my tourism industry. [ A smile! ] I have hopes of opening a casino here, as it turns out, though I'm in need of investors and supplies.
