The Log:

[ The last of the holiday season are here, and the festivities are finally under way. All down Lander an absurd amount of punch, food, alcohol, and warm winter wear are at your disposal. Various kinds of music play from places undetermined, songs from the festive to the bizarre, its your pick. It's only your fellow captivees here, so might as well enjoy the free shit and partying right?

Do you know how disadvantageous that would be? Are you trying to get me hurt?

C'mon, it's not like I'm strong either! It's seriously easy.

And if I do die, would you feel terrible?

[ whoa, whoa, Yukio. Slow down ] What...? Of course I would, I mean- it's not actually like you're gonna die. Right?

[encoder]

I wouldn't say I'm planning on it.

[but a sigh as he takes a better stance for this mission, glancing at jack.]

Just run and knock it over, right.

[dewebbed]

Yeah! You got to watch out for the lasers and stuff, but they're actually not that bad when we're at this angle. You've got a good shot.

[encoder]

[he's honestly not too concerned with his well-being in regards to this situation, but really would prefer not moving at all. thus the unsuccessful guilt-tripping. damnit... and running at the right angle towards the thing really does make it a whole lot less life-threatening. while yukio's far from the fastest, the turret is tipped regardless. jack hadn't been lying.

he stares at the aftermath of his work for a few seconds, considering his options as he catches his breath again.]

... Useless.

[dewebbed]

[ and Jack jumps up, running over to join him jovially. ] See what I mean? That wasn't hard at all!

[encoder]

I guess.

[he bends down to rest a hand on one lightly for a moment, then on the other one. cue him standing the closest one back up.]

They're members of our party, now.

[dewebbed]

Whoa, you sure? Maybe we've got to use some...friendship spell on them or something, haha.

[encoder]

'Friendship spell', please. [the thought is going to make him gag!! how about mind-control, that's better.] I already did.

[and he stands the other one up. low and behold, they won't be attacking jack and yukio again anytime soon.]

[dewebbed]

[ and Jack wasn't actually expecting it to work that way. he scratches his chin ] So what'd you do, exactly? Pull a wire?

[encoder]

[he's about to chastise him for asking but then that would be a waste of time, as jack doesn't know in the first place.

yukio flexes the fingers of a gloved hand.] Simply put, I guess you could say I have a 'way' with electronics. That's putting it modestly, too.

[dewebbed]

Hey, I can believe it! I'm pretty good with them too, but I've never been able to make them just stop! [ He's getting excited now, walking over to look at the turret ]

[encoder]

They're not going to just stop. They're going to fight for us, too.

Honestly, what use would a party member be if they didn't do anything for you? [NO USE AT ALL, THAT'S WHAT.] If you're feeling particularly rambunctious, drag some other monster over here and I'll show you.

Ha, alright, if you say so. I'll be right back!

[ he runs off, and a couple minutes later, runs back with a squirming Puni under his arm ] How's this little guy work?

[encoder]

Yeah, sure.

[he shrugs, nodding towards the front of the turrets.]

Toss it that way.

[dewebbed]

[ Jack pauses, taking a moment to look at a turret very seriously ] Hey, don't be too hard on him, got it?

[ and with that he sets the puni down ]

[encoder]

[yeah no. the puni gets enough bullets rained through it that it explodes outward, probably showering the two with gelatinous puni remains. and as soon as the target has been destroyed, the turrets calm.

yukio flicks some out of his bangs, looking amused yet a little annoyed his clothes have been dirtied.]

Gross...

[dewebbed]

[ And Jack just sort of...stands there for a moment. He's way more shocked than grossed out. Blinks a bit. ]

...Whoa. Hey. Not cool.
