Helen wrapped her fingers around her cup, studying the woman across from her with a new perspective. One she found she didn’t mind in the slightest.

Helen wrapped her fingers around her cup, studying the woman across from her with a new perspective. One she found she didn’t mind in the slightest.

She adjusts easily to the woman leaning against her, finding she doesn't at all mind the contact. But then, she always has been fond of touch.
"Those are the best of relationships. Life is far too dull when approached with caution."

She shook her head a little and just relaxes a bit. Her life is all sorts of strange.
"I couldn't agree more."

Her voice is soft, intentionally light, and her thumb brushes across River's hand. "Comfortable?"

River nods a little and glances away even as Helen brushes her thumb around her hand. Why was she sharing this with her? Even River couldn't really answer that one.
Perhaps it was just the stress of being stuck in this place.
"And I did, twice. Well, almost twice."

River leans a little more against Helen before shaking her head.
"Promise me you won't let him know."

Which was true with her. River loved excitement and went out of her way at times to get into it.

"My biological family is gone now. My parents." She faltered slightly, the words seeming too heavy. "My daughter."
